A New Life After Knowing God
I've been encouraged to share my life story of coming to know God. Born and raised in a poor and broken family, my life was steered by hardship, moving between families, even finding myself in a brothel at one point. At the age of 10, a trusted male relative tried to assault me. My single mother fought with all her might to protect me and escape those terrible situations. No one believed I was sexually abused, except my mother. Life thereafter was tough; I felt hopeless, isolated, ashamed, and scared. I became depressed in my first year of university, had no friends, poor grades, lost my university scholarship, and planned to commit suicide.
But God entered my life just in time. While eating lunch alone, a student approached me and shared her miraculous experience with God. Initially resistant, I listened until the end as she refused to give up. She then invited me to a small church gathering at the university, especially organized for Christmas. I agreed to go with her. That night, I felt a tight and enduring embrace; every tear seemed to vanish. Since that day, my life has never been the same. I've transformed from a person who never knew joy to someone filled with happiness, laughing and smiling easily at everything like never before. I wanted to forgive everyone who caused me pain and heartbreak. From a life of fear, I now wish to love everyone generously. I have been reborn! I now live a beautiful and joyful life with my family, becoming a good wife and mother. No matter my past, I have now established a new way of life to pass on to my children and grandchildren. They won't live the broken life I did; they will have a better future and life because today, God's love stays with my family and me, now, tomorrow, and forever.
So, no matter your past or what you've been through, I believe God can give you a new life too! If God could heal my broken heart, He can do the same for you.
